D-CAF's 9th edition postponed
Ahmed El Attar, director of the Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF) postpones D-CAF’s 9th edition until further notice.
The decision comes after Egypt’s Ministry of Culture banned all large community events and gatherings until further notice to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The D-CAF team stresses that the festival, which was supposed to take place from March 20th to April 10th, 2020, has to be postponed in the interest of the safety and well-being of the festival’s team, guest artists, fans, and local and international audience. Amid a global emergency that is affecting everyone worldwide, its members emphasise their commitment to creating an environment of respect for everyone and thus encourage everybody to be mindful of their personal health and take care of and support one another.
In the hope that the festival can be rescheduled for next autumn, the director and all the D-CAF’s team wish everyone around the world good health and safety and tell D-CAF’s fans to get ready for the new dates of the festival, which will offer a vast array of impressive artistic performances. The dates will be announced as soon as possible on all D-CAF’s social media platforms.
Since 2012, the Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF) is Egypt's only international, multidisciplinary arts festival showcasing performances ranging from theatre, films, visual arts, dance, to music. D-CAF was the first contemporary arts festival to introduce thousands in Cairo audiences, as well as both professional and amateur artists to a vast array of arts performances from all over the world.
